We now have a licenced kitchen!!!!! We got our licence Wednesday and started baking as soon as the licencer left. We made cinnamon bread, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies and blueberry muffins. It is nice to have the kitchen licenced so we can sell baked goods out of our home legally. The kitchen is actually the old mudroom and the mudroom is now out in the garage. It is way nicer and more organized.

Dogs!
We are now dog farmers as my dad calls it. We were given 4 labs, 2 males, 2 females. The males are both chocolate and the females are yellow and black. The black female (Holly) is due in about 3 weeks and the yellow female (Molly) is due in about 7 weeks. The males are Reece and Buster. Buster and Molly are both registered, and Holly and Reece are both purebreds but not registered. It is a complete learning experience. Already the females have gotten into a "death fight" and are all beat up. Hopefully it won't cause abortions.
We are all getting used to the idea of having dogs. The girls keep the pens clean and lead them around. They are all pretty sweet with us. Anybody with any ideas on how to keep the from fighting........?

Foster Care
We have just gotten our first foster baby. Myah is 10 months old and is as sweet as can be! She sleeps through then night, from 8 to 8 or even 8 to 9! She is so happy and rarely cries. She will fuss a little, but other than that, she is content to crawl around and chew on everything! Everybody loves her and is always ready to hold her when she does cry. I am not sure a baby has ever gotten so much attention!

Kids are arriving!
Kids are finally arriving on the farm. Due to computer problems, I am unable to post pictures. Hopefully soon I can take care of that and then I will get them up. Our first babies were born on Saturday, February 16. Their names are Alithia, Avery and Alec. These were Nibbles' babies. They are beautiful kids, extremely strong and healthy. On Wednesday, February 21 our first Boers were born. Triplet bucks. They are still unnamed. Hopefully they will all be named with "B" names!

Pre kidding update
No babies yet! I don't think it will be long though as a few of the boer goats are looking very close and Nibbles only has 3 days. All the pens are clean, all the medicines are here and ready. The babies just have to come, though it would be nice if this cold snap breaks first. It is 3 degrees right now, but the wind chill is -17! It has been like this all day with the wind howling around the house.
We have made several new pens in the pole barn along with a chick pen in the middle. Thankfully the chick pen is only temperary. The wood will be later used on more pens. We have decided to put all the milkers down in the dairy barn and all the kid, dry goats and boers will be in the pole barn.
We are also going to have a few goats that will be soy free. If you are interested in soy free goat milk, feel free to contact us. We also may be going soy free with our chickens. We are still looking into this, so it may be a few months before the soy free eggs may be available.
