Role of women Part 2

Part 2 sees the history of women.  Over the years, what is viewed commonly as the role of women has changed as cultures and countries have changed.

Bible times/several thousand years ago:
Women were viewed as inferior to men.  A son was desired, not a daughter.  Now, it's not that women were looked at as slaves.  They were still highly regarded by their husbands and children (Proverbs 31:28).  They were the silent warriors for the family.  They receive little credit but were some of the greatest people in our history.

Medieval Times:
Women were still inferior to men, but some became queens or well known individuals such as Joan of Arc or Jane Shore.

Civil War era:
These women were considered gems and something every man held close in his home.  Their roles however varied depending on their life situation.  Women down south were treated like queens but did very little.  Women out west/in any pioneer land worked right along side their husbands clearing land and creating a new life for their families.  Up north, well it was a little bit of everything. :)

WW2:
This is where women began working outside of the homes, since many of the men were gone and the ladies needed an income and jobs were available all over.

Current:
Women are generally looked at as strong and work outside of the home.  Though much money is raised, very few children are.

Note:  This was/is not an exact case for every individual.  Just an overall view.

Because of these changes in views and culture, many of the roles change constantly.  Yet the bible still holds true today and we will be looking at verses on these roles next.

Really looking forward to your next post! I'm really enjoying this! Everyone can get the role of a woman so mixed up. They tend to look to the world for their definition instead of the Bible. Can't wait!

In Christ,
Amy

Women, have a lot on thier plate today for sure, and thier roles have changed, however the "most succcessful" women in the Bible God tells us in Proverbs 31:10-31 a wife of noble character...she runs her household, she loves her husband, she has assistants, she has multiple business interactions and success, she manufactures things, she lifts her husband up(honor and respect)...great blog, look forward to reading more.
