COLD!!!

Good morning to all of my fellow blogging friends!

Greetings from chilly Michigan.  I looked at the online weather page and it is saying that our town is at 13* with a wind chill of -5*.  For some reason.....I don't feel like going out to do chores.  :D  From what I can see out the window, it looks like we have about 4-5 inches of snow though it's hard to tell because of the high winds.  Yesterday was pretty nasty, the rain turning the snow that had fallen the evening before into slush which later as it got colder, turned into ice.  The roads were not a pretty place to be yesterday.  Lots of black ice and and wind (which I guess were around 40-50 mph winds) .  When I got home, we braved the cold and I cleaned out my gilt's pen, Abigail cleaned out her steer's pen and we bedded down the calves.  Hopefully they held up okay in the cold.  We moved the youngest ones into the barn and I think the older ones will be fine.

I'm going to leave you with a little bit of Shakespear:

Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind

(from "as you like it" and I cut out a little of it)

Blow, blow, thou winter wind,
Thou art not so unkind
As man's ingratitude;
Thy tooth is not so keen,
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.

Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not to sharp,
As friend remember'd not.

For those of you who are in these cold states....keep warm!  And those in the warm states....enjoy the warmth!  :)

In Christ,
~Bethany~

It's about the same over here and I definitely don't relish the idea of marching out there in the cold!

Shakespeare is awesome don't you think?! I was just reading our ancient, yellow-paged, dust-covered copy of his works the other day. Read Shakespeare's sonnet 116! Marianne quotes it in Sense and Sensibility!
And speaking of Jane Austen, I heard that you watched Pride and Prejudice last night! I have watched that movie so many times, I nearly have it memorized myself! A timeless classic =)

Okay, okay, enough of my rambling, and out to do chores!

Yikes, I just got in from braving the COLD, and it is FREEZING OUT THERE lol! Let's just say that I'll be having an indoor day very close to the fire...maybe I'll get some reading or sewing done:)

I'm drying Tenn up (which will be NO problem at all lol) and so soon I won't have to milk in the morning, just at night!!! Yay!

TTYL,
Jenna

p.s. Good job with cleaning pens out! I'm sure it felt good to get that done before the snow dumped on ya~

I have yet to see Pride and Prejudice. Amy (the friend you met) is a HUGE P & P fan. She has read all the books and has seen all the movies. I guess some snowy day I will have to make a day of it.

I do love the shakespeare quote as well.

Thanks...

We had a lot of rain the other day. Almost an inch. That is a lot for Southern Californa, it may not be for Michigan, but it is for So Cal. The sun is shining today, however, with the weather at 65*.

In Christ,
Joshua :)
